Living space in urban centers is becoming ever more compact, which means that items used in daily life are becoming increasingly multi-functional. In the process of design, we often think about how to combine function and adornment to create a good experience for users. The Subtle Happiness table lamp is such a multi-function lamp that can also be used as a vase and a small storage plate. The removable lighting element also increases its versatility.
As a table lamp, the designer specially designed the glowing side as a spherical shape to expand the lighting area. The other side of the lighting element is a total flat plate which is made of aluminum with brass oxidation effect, which you can use it as a storage plate for small things. This lighting element is removable, so that you can also place it wherever you like, either hang it on the wall or put it by your sofa. The lamp body itself is a vase too. There are two different materials: ash wood and jade. You may keep dried flowers in the wooden vase, but fresh flowers in the jade one. Two different materials create diverse atmosphere.
Subtle Happiness won the 2019 German Design Award- Special Mention.
