Mary’s Vase by Kokili Projects
Updated: Jan 7, 2020
Inspired by a friend's(Mary) daily ritual of picking a flower or small bunch from a garden each day and placing them in a small bottle vase, documenting each with a photograph and short note, Mary's Vase project began with the intention of creating a vase for her flowers. The aim was not only creating the vase but also framing this daily ritual.
A new mental and emotional portrait is created every time Mary’s Vase is used. As the project progressed, several proportions and sizes were tested. A 60 degree ellipse approximately 12”x9” in size was chosen, giving a substantial feel as well as accommodating the widest variety of flowers. Frames are available in beech, cherry, black walnut, and white oak.
