Tamashii Chair by Anna Stepankova

The inspiration for the dining chair, Tamashii, comes from a Japanese veneer technique called Bunaco. Stepankova's goal was to discover all possibilities that this technique offers and apply gained knowledge in an innovative way. In her work, she put emphasis on handmade experimentations with wooden material. The aim was to design a chair which would be merging the traditional technique in a modern design. The Tamashii chair is a part of a concept , buy a chair, get a tree - which is a manifestation of responsibility towards environment and a life cycle of the product. The intention was to give your own story and energy to this piece of furniture.
