Cadeira Iaiá by Atelier Gustavo Bittencourt
Updated: Jan 16, 2020

The Iaiá chair came from a necessity. Married for almost a year, when Gustavo moved to the new house, a chair at the dinner table was missing. Then as a good designer and husband, he decided to draw a chair to meet this need and at the same time honor his wife. Once again the saying has come in handy, "I killed two birds with one stone." And how passionate Brazilian modernism and these great masters are an inspiration, he used his materials and processes as a concept. So the wood came to give warmth, touch the straw by the lightness, comfort and transparency. The choice of metal use was to provide a rigid and light structure, and its plasticity.
