Morié Wall Light Series by David Derksen for New Works
Updated: Jan 21, 2020

Nature, and especially the principles and processes that are found in nature, are David Derksen’s main sources of inspiration. This results in a strong focus on materials, how they behave and how they can be constructed. In his designs, he tries to express the beauty of the material and the way it is produced.

This series of wall lights is a celebration of the intriguing Moiré effect. The fascinating Moiré effect is formed by adding two patterns on top of each other, thus creating a new pattern. This effect occurs with the Moiré Wall light by rotating the rear portion of the lamp. This creates an almost hypnotic effect with new patterns of rings, squares or hexagons. The wall lamp invites the user to interact and be fascinated by the Moiré principle.
