Saitens by Clara Schweers

Saitens is a chair made for two people; two people who may or may not know each other but can still get close to each other without having to overcome their inhibitions of touching or talking.
The project is inspired by a study of Leonardo da Vinci's found in the Codex Arundel. It shows the reflection of sunrays shining onto a parabolic mirror. The result is a structure made out of straight lines that form an organic surface.

A reflection is the embodiment for the number two and the reason why Schweers decided to create a seating opportunity for two people.
With one piece of fishing line, she threaded through the holes of the steel tubes of both seats. This creates an indirect contact between both parties. They can feel each other without touching.
