Grasp Boxes and Pleat Pitchers, Enfold bowls are part of a speculative project that depicts a rejection of the dominant aesthetic model based on uniformity and standardization that our material world has been subjected to during the last century.
These objects are produced through a new technique that Omayra Maymó have developed, which enables the creation of unique outcomes through the same serial automated manufacturing. During this process, a degree of highly controlled freedom is provided to the material, for it to behave in its own natural way and generate unique folds every time, making each piece a matchless object. The aim is to create more personal and soulful objects, capable of stimulating stronger emotional bonds with the user, enriching our everyday experiences.
