Monoliitti by Collin Townsend Velkoff
Updated: Jan 26, 2020

Monoliitti is a set of blackened oak and glass containers that are an ode to figural urns. These vessels convey spiritual undertones by exploring how aesthetics can influence perception. They have been influenced by the iconography of religious artifacts, ancient monoliths, and primitive cultures. Yet they are devoid of any connection to the dogma and rhetoric of religion, in an attempt to use objects as a vehicle of spirituality for the secular.
