Dervish Lamp by Booabbood for Squad Design

The whirling dance (ritual dance or Sema) unites the three fundamental components of human nature: the mind (as knowledge and thought), the heart (through the expression of feelings, poetry and music) and the body (by activating life, by the turning). These three elements are thoroughly joined both in theory and in practice as perhaps in no other ritual or system of thought. This image is transformed through the lamp itself, four different dimensions that illustrate the different phases of the dance. Materials used are brass / copper and wood, to reflect the boldness of the body and the sensibility of the movement.
