Known for its unique wood pieces, Chista founded in 1990, explores the roots of primitivism and modernism. The found and the sculptural in the everyday and the monumental expressed through furniture, lighting and installations. The unique furniture pieces of Chista are primarily organic, made from shells, roots, fossils and stones, usually as a single piece. The tables and stools are mainly created from naturally formed teak root in form of a cross section with different finishes. They are sometimes kept rustic while in other occasions with a veneered finish. The bronze or nickle plated tables and stools are casted from the original natural form of the tree.
Among the many varieties of this collection, Volcano, Kailash, and the Meteor pieces are the most famous ones.
