Half Sketch Kishu Collection, Maya Selway
Updated: Jan 30, 2020

The Half Sketch Kishu Collection by Maya Selway includes a whole series of objects that have been designed to appear as half-finished and casual sketches of various items such as bowls, bottles, candle holders and vases and that is why it is also known as the half-sketch Kishu Collection.
Every item in this Collection has been weighed carefully at the base so that its lopsided structure could be ably supported. Selway has worked diligently for a long period of time to get the balance right and perhaps her skills as a trained jeweler helped her mastering the design. These delicate pieces have been made out of oxidized copper. The vase, particularly, contains a shallow dish of silver so that it can hold water. The bowls and the bottles are only decorative while the candle holder and the vase may be utilized.
These pieces are the kind of designer pieces that will make you look twice at them.
This collection has won second prize in the objects category at the Interieur Design Awards at Interieur Design Biennale in Kortrijk, Belgium.
