Fadeout Chair by Nendo
Updated: Jan 30, 2020

Designed by Nendo for Museum of Art and Design, NY, The Fadeout Chair is made up wooden seat and back and clear acrylic legs that are specially painted to look like the wooden body and gradually fading away as they touch the floor, giving the illusion of suspension to the chair. As described be Nendo " usually, our perception of furniture is strongly affected by the space around it. The fade-out chair turns this relationship on its head: we can change the look and feel of a space simply by placing the chair in it. This was our attempt to design space itself through furniture."
